The most popular festival in our country in India means the festival of Diwali is celebrated with great pomp. This festival is a 4 to 5 day-long festival. When Diwali comes very close, the preparation of Diwali starts in every house in India.

When we all start preparing for Diwali, there is joy inside everyone. When Diwali comes very close, then a lot of dishes are prepared in our house. Children get 15 days’ leave in school and college.

Those four days of Diwali

In the country of India, the festival of Diwali is celebrated with great joy. The first day of Diwali is the festival of Dhanteras. This is the beginning of Diwali.

Lakshmi is worshiped on the second day. On this day Goddess Lakshmi is worshiped everywhere in India. Bhai Dooj happens on the third day. On this day, a sister worships her brothers.

Then both of them offer each other on the occasion of Bhai Dooj. The third day is followed by Balipratipada and Deepavali Padwa. In this way, four days of Diwali are celebrated with great pomp and show.

Preparations for Diwali

The festival of Diwali is the largest festival of its country. Due to this festival, people of different religions are together. This festival falls every year until the month of November. In this festival, people go to the shops and buy new things.

Different types of sweets are made in all the houses before coming to Diwali. Diyas are lit in every house on Diwali. In such a country, Diwali preparations are going on in every household.

Due to this festival being the most popular festival in the whole of India, all the people of India celebrate this festival together.

There are many festivals in our country. Like Ganapati in Maharashtra which is limited to the entire Maharashtra state only. Gurunanak Jayanti which is limited only to the state of Punjab.

But Diwali is a festival which is one of the festivals celebrated all over India. Just like Independence Day, Republic Day, Gandhi Jayanti celebrates all these festivals all over the country, similarly, the festival of Diwali is celebrated all over India.

Story of Diwali

This festival has great significance here. It is a festival which has been celebrated since the time of history. There is a story behind this festival. When Lord Ram, Mother Sita & Ram’s younger brother Lakshman returned to Ayodhya after returning from 14 years of exile.

Then the festival was celebrated all over the country to celebrate this happiness. Then he started celebrating the same festival every year in his country. This is the same festival that we know today as Diwali.
