UPESEAT 2021: Application Form, Exam Dates & Other Information


UPESEAT means the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Engineering Aptitude Test. UPESEAT is a university entrance exam for engineering students (University of Petroleum and Energy Studies).

It is a university-level exam that takes place once a year. To be admitted to a B.Tech course in one of 37 disciplines, students must pass the UPESEAT test.

Candidates will also be admitted on the basis of their JEE Main scores or board merit (12th level scores). UPESEAT all applications submitted for the only online mode.

Application Form

Students should read the following section to learn more about the UPESEAT 2021 Application Form:

  • Students will register and fill out their applications online.
  • Registration, filling out an application form, selecting a test center, uploading information, and paying the application fee are all steps in the application process.
  • Students must fill in all information correctly, as there would be no correction option for making changes to the application details.
  • Candidates must read all eligibility requirements before submitting the application.
  • Students may also apply for UPESEAT in the offline mode by picking up an application form at the UPES Dehradun campus. The OMR Sheet Form can be used to apply the form.
  • Students must print the application form and fee payment receipt after submitting their application online for future reference.

Eligibility Criteria

In the section below, students can learn about the UPESEAT Eligibility Criteria:

Qualification & Minimum Marks:

  • JEE Main Merit: Candidates have to clear their secondary and senior secondary examination with a minimum of 60% marks.
  • Board Merit: Candidates have to clear their secondary and senior secondary examination with a minimum of 80% marks.
  • The merit of the Council: 10th & 12th Class Pass (Minimum 80% Marks Required).
  • The main merit of JEE: Upper and upper secondary level Examination Pass. (Minimum 60% Marks Required).
  • The State Council of Uttarakhand: Applicant must successfully complete high school and high school from a recognized board (Minimum 80% Marks Required).

Exam Pattern

  • Duration of Exam: 3 Hours
  • Type of question: Multiple choice questions – Objective.
  • Number of questions: 200 questions
  • Negative Marking: No negative markings. 
  • Marking Scheme: 1 Marks for each correct answer.

Tips for Preparation

Candidates can use the following tips and tricks to help them prepare for the UPESEAT exam:

  • Before starting your training, go over the UPESEAT syllabus and exam pattern in detail.
  • Students must begin their exam planning as soon as possible in order to be fully prepared for the exam.
  • Prepare for the entrance exam with professional-recommended study materials.
  • To develop their practice and deliver good results, students must solve past papers and sample papers.
  • Since revision is so critical, students must go through their prepared notes again.

Admit Card

There will be no need for an admit card since UPESEAT is an online test. Candidates should schedule their exam according to the time slot they have reserved.

Successfully registered candidates will be asked to book a slot in order to receive an admit card after completing the application phase. After booking an exam slot, students will be able to download their admit cards.

The process of booking a slot will be done entirely online. On the admit card, students can find all of the information they need about their test, including the date, time, and place.

In the last week of June 2021, students will be able to review their UPESEAT results. Students will be able to access their results through a website.

To obtain their results, candidates will be asked to enter their login information. On the result, you’ll see your ranking by category and your marks by line.

Candidates who apply via the UPESEAT test, JEE Main Score, or Board Merit Pathway will receive a separate merit list.

Cut Off

The UPESEAT Cut Off will be determined based on a number of factors, including the availability of seats, the difficulty level of the exam, and the number of candidates who apply.

Students should use the website to learn more about the cut-off dates. For different categories of applicants and for different courses, the cut-off would differ.

Students who pass the UPESEAT entrance exam would be able to participate in the counseling process.


In the first week of July 2021, the UPESEAT Counseling process will be held. Students will be able to register for counseling via the website in an online mode.

For the purpose of selecting applicants for admission, a centralized counseling session will be held. Only UPESEAT 2021 eligible applicants will be considered for the counseling round.

Separate counseling sessions will be held for candidates applying for admission based on their Board merit and JEE Main ranking.

Students should bring all of their documents/certificates to counseling on the day of the document verification process.
