Kerala Polytechnic 2021: Application Form, Exam Dates & Other Information


Kerala Polytechnic conducted by the Department of Technical Education, Kerala. The Department of Technical Education in Kerala will conduct the admissions process for Kerala Polytechnic 2021.

It is a state-level admissions process that takes place once a year. Admission to various government and private polytechnic colleges will be available.

Admissions are not granted based on the results of an entrance test. The admissions process will be dependent on the results of the 10th and 12th-grade tests.

Application Form

Candidates will learn more about the Kerala Polytechnic 2021 application form here:

  • The application form will be submitted via the internet.
  • From the last week of May 2021, candidates will be able to fill out their application forms.
  • Fill in all of the requested information, such as schooling, personal information, and communication methods.
  • The application form will be accepted in hardcopy until the third week of June 2021.
  • Candidates would only need to complete one application for different districts.

Application Fee

  • At the time of application submission, the polytechnic colleges will collect the application fee.
  • In all circumstances, the fee would be non-refundable.
  • SC & ST Candidates: Rs.75/-
  • Other Candidates: Rs.150/-

Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for the exam, candidates should review the following eligibility requirements at Kerala Polytechnic:

  • Applicants must be citizens of India.
  • Candidates must possess a Kerala state domicile certificate.
  • The parents of the candidate must be permanent employees in the state of Kerala.
  • Candidates must have passed the SSLC/ THSLC or an equivalent exam from a recognized board.
  • Candidates must pass mathematics, English, and science subjects on their qualifying test.
  • Candidates who have previously applied for or taken the enhancement test are ineligible to apply.

Exam Pattern

  • Exam Mode: Offline (Pen & Paper Based)
  • Number of questions: 120 questions
  • Total Marks: 120 marks 
  • Negative Marking: One mark will be deducted for each wrong answer
  • Marking Scheme: 4 Marks for each correct answer.

List of Rankings

Kerala Polytechnic rank list will be released in the third week of June 2021. It will be available on the website in an online format. Objections to the rank list may also be submitted by candidates.

In the fourth week of June 2021, the final rank list will be published. The candidates’ grades in their qualifying test will be used to compile a ranking list. The 10th-grade marks will be used to compile a ranking list.

Online access to the rank card will be required as well. Using their application number and password, candidates may obtain their rank cards. Candidates will be called for admission based on their overall ranking.

Criteria for Reservations

Candidates will review the following reservation requirements for Kerala Polytechnic 2021:

  • THSLC holders get a 10% discount.
  • PWDs: 5%
  • ITI/KGCE certificate holders: 5%
  • SEBC: 40 percent 
  • Candidates for VHSE: 2%


Admission to Kerala Polytechnic will be based on a merit list, preference filling, and reservation criteria. Candidates must report to the designated college with all required documentation and fees.

Candidates who fail to appear at the reporting center on the specified date and time will have their seats canceled. For the verification process, candidates must carry their original papers.

The following are the documents that will be needed for verification:

  • Exam result sheet for SSLC/ THSLC
  • Certificates for the SSLC and THSLC exams
  • Initial mark sheet from ITI, VHSE, or KGCE
  • Certificate of residence
  • Certificate for non-creamy layer
  • Certificate of good health
  • Certificate of Income
  • Certificate of nativity
  • Tahsildar issues a community certificate.
