ISI 2021: Application Form, Exam Dates & Other Information


ISI means Indian Statistical Institute. The Indian Statistical Institute will perform the test (ISI). It is a national entrance test that takes place once a year.

Admission to different UG and PG courses will be available via this test. Candidates will be admitted to B. Stat (Hons. ), B. Maths (Hons. ), M. Math, M. Tech (CS), MS (QMS), MS (QE), and other courses. ISI all applications submitted for the only online mode and Exam Mode is Offline.

Application Form

Candidates must read the following information about the ISI 2021 application form:

  • Candidates are required to fill the application form through online mode.
  • To successfully complete the application process, students must have – scanned the Internet, a valid email ID, a copy of the signature & a digital copy of his / her photograph.
  • Before filling the application, students must ensure to pass through the entire eligibility criteria.
  • Students belonging to the reserved category (ST / SC / OBC – NCL) will have to upload their caste certificates. PwD is required to upload their disability certificate.
  • The application process will follow some steps like – registration, filling of forms, uploading of documents & payment of fees.
  • Candidates will submit their application form and can take a print out of the application form for further processing.

Application Fee

  • Male applicants (general category) for all programs: Rs.1250/-
  • Female applicants (general category) for all programs: Rs.750/-
  • OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD Category candidates: Rs.625/-

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must read the ISI Admission 2021 Eligibility Criteria before filling out the application form:

For UG

  • Educational Qualification: The candidate should have completed 12th standard from a recognized board/university.
  • Qualification subject: Candidate should have passed the 12th level with Mathematics and English subjects.
  • Visually: Students of their 12th level can also apply.

For PG

  • M.Stat: Candidate should have passed three years Bachelor’s degree or BE / B. Tech degree with Statistics as a subject or B or Mathematics degree from ISI and Postgraduate Diploma in Statistical Methods and Analytics from ISI.
  • M.Math: Candidate should have three years Bachelor’s degree or BE / B. Tech degree with Mathematics as a subject or B State from ISI.
  • MS (QE): The candidate must have passed the 12th standard examination in any discipline with a three-year bachelor’s degree and a mathematics subject.
  • M.Tech (CS): Candidate should have BE or B.Tech Degree or Master Degree in Mathematics / Statistics / Physics / Electronic Science / Computer Applications / Computer Science / Information Technology or its equivalent.

Exam Pattern

The exam officials released the exam pattern of the ISI entrance exam 2021 in online mode. This helps the candidates to prepare in a better and informed manner. Using ISI 2021 exam pattern, candidates are able to know the pattern in which the question paper of the ISI Entrance Exam 2021 will be prepared.

Part – 1

  • Type of questions: MCQ or Descriptive
  • Subject: Mathematics of UG level
  • Total marks: 30 Marks
  • Duration: 2 Hours
  • Number of questions to attempt: It will be mandatory to attempt all the questions

Part – 2

  • Type of questions: MCQ or Descriptive.
  • Sections: Computer Science, Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Drawing, Thermodynamics, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Technology.

Tips for Preparation

Candidates can use the following tips and tricks to help them prepare for the ISI Admission exam:

  • Examine the whole exam pattern and syllabus.
  • Make a study schedule and stick to it on a regular basis.
  • Candidates can solve question papers from previous years.
  • Complete mock tests and jot down quick notes on the subjects.
  • Practice yoga, eat nutritious foods and look after your body.

Admit Card

ISI 2021 Admit Card will be distributed through the internet. Candidates must double-check all of the information on their admit card.

ISI admit cards will be published in June/July 2021 by the authorities. On the day of the test, candidates must carry their admit card along with one valid photo ID.

By entering their user ID and password, candidates can obtain their admit card. Candidates will not receive their admit cards via mail or any other offline form.

Answer Key

After a few days have passed after the test, the ISI 2021 response key will be issued. Candidates can access the response key through the internet.

In the third week of July 2021, the answer key will be published. Objections to the ISI response key may also be submitted by candidates.

Authorities will issue the final response key after receiving all objections. The response key will be in PDF format.


The outcome of ISI 2021 will be announced in the last week of July/August 2021. Candidates can access their results through the internet. The outcome will be announced in the form of a merit list.

Candidates can access their ISI results by entering their login information, which includes their application number and password.

Candidates will be called for an interview and document review process based on the results. Candidates must carefully review all information in the result, including their name, grade, rank, and registration number.

ISI admission would be dependent on a number of factors, including an interview, a written examination, and document verification.

Candidates whose names appear on the merit list will be invited to an interview. It is recommended that candidates carry their original documentation for verification.

Candidates will not be assigned seats until their documents are checked. On, the authorities will publish a seat allocation and wait list.

For the verification process, candidates must carry the following documents:

  • Marksheets and certificates for grades 10 and 12
  • ISI admit card for the year 2021
  • Result of ISI 2021
  • Certificate of Medical Health
  • Certificate of transfer
  • Photographs the size of passports, etc.
