IIST 2021: Application Form, Exam Dates & Other Information

Admission

IIST means the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology. The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology will be in charge of IIST Admission 2021.

Space sciences, space technology, and space applications will all be available for admission. The university will not hold an entrance test to admit students to UG and PG programs.

Candidates will be admitted based on national-level examinations such as JEE Advanced, JEE Main, JEST, UGC NET, GATE, and others. Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology all applications submitted for the only online mode.

Application Form

Here is what you need to know about the IIST 2021 application form:

  • The application form will be available online.
  • Candidates will start filling out their application forms for UG courses on June 1st, 2021, and for PG courses on April 2nd, 2021.
  • Fill out the application form with information such as educational, family, and address information.
  • Upload a passport-size photo and signature in the format specified.
  • For UG courses, the application fee will be accepted until the third week of June 2021, and for PG courses, it will be accepted until the last week of April 2021.
  • Take a printout of the application form and store it somewhere safe for future use.

Eligibility Criteria

Before filling out the application form, candidates must review the following eligibility requirements for IIST Admission 2021:

For UG

Applicants should be Indian citizens. Students must have been born as of October 1, 1994 (for general and OBC) and October 1, 1989 (for reserved categories).

Applicants must have passed the 12th examination or equivalent with PCM subjects from any recognized board. In the qualifying examination, students must have obtained at least 75% (65% qualifications for reserved categories). Candidates are also eligible for JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2020 exams.

For PG

Candidates should be Indian citizens. The maximum age limit for general candidates as of 30 April 2019 is 32 years. Age reduction for SC / ST and PD candidates will be applicable by the orders of the Government of India. Applicant must have BE, B.Tech, MS, M.Sc, or equivalent degree.

Candidates should get at least 60% marks or 6.5 MPC (55% or 6.0 MPC for reserved categories). Valid scorecard of the GATE / JEST / UGC NET exam in the concerned field. The eligibility criteria to appear in the exam is a minimum of 70% score in Maths, 12th in Chemistry, and one can apply for the entrance exam for Physics IIST 2020 in OBC and General category.

Applicants scoring 60% marks in class XII with subjects from a university recognized as an eligibility requirement will be taken into consideration for the Indian Space Science and Technology 2020.

Rank List

The IIST Admission rank list for UG courses will be released in the third week of June 2021, and for PG courses in the second week of May 2021.

The ranking list will be published in an online format. For UG courses, the rank list will be based on JEE Advanced exam scores, while for PG courses, it will be based on GATE/ UGC NET/ JEST scores.

Candidates should print a copy of their rank cards for future reference. Candidates will be called for interview rounds based on their rank on the list. Only PG students will be interviewed.

Cut Off

The cutoff for IIST admission will be announced online. To be considered for entry, candidates must have achieved the required cut-off points. Cut-off points are available on the website for candidates to see.

The cut-off will be determined by rank, category, interview results, and seat availability, among other factors. Candidates will be called for counseling after the cut-off marks are issued.

Counseling

Following the release of the rank list, IIST Admission Counseling will be held. Counseling will only be available in an offline format.

Candidates must attend the counseling session in person. Counseling will be broken down into many stages, such as seat assignment, document verification, and so on.

Candidates for PG courses may be required to attend an interview or a written examination. Candidates will not be assigned seats until their documents are checked.

Candidates should review the following documents that will be required during the verification process:

  • Label sheets and certificate for qualifying exams
  • Certificate of transfer
  • Certificate of classification
  • A certificate of migration
  • Certificate of good health
  • JEE Advanced/ GATE/ UGC NET/ JEST scorecard
  • Photograph the size of a passport, and so on.
