Application Form

Candidates must read the following information about the IISc Application Form:

  • The application form can be accessed via the internet.
  • Candidates must submit a passport-size photograph and signature in the specified format during registration.
  • Candidates must also provide a valid/working email address and phone number in the application form for future reference.
  • Finally, candidates must remember to print several copies of their completed application forms for future reference.

Post Graduate Courses

  • General/ OBC and sponsored candidates of Defense, DRDO, BARC, ISRO, NAL, KSRTC, BMTC, BDA PWD, and CPRI: Rs.800/-
  • SC/ ST/ PWD: RS.400/-
  • ERP candidates: Rs.2000/-

Step to Apply Application Form

  • The candidate follows the step to Apply Application Form:
  • Go to the Official Website.
  • Select the UG/PG Option
  • After that, click on the ‘New User Register’ link
  • In this registration, you have to enter your nationality, name, DOB, email ID & valid mobile number.
  • After this, you click on the ‘Register’ button.
  • An application form link will be sent to the candidates on their registered email ID.
  • Now, by clicking on this link, start the process of filling the application form that will open.
  • In which you have to fill in your personal details, your eligibility details (KVPY, JEE M3ain, JEE Advanced or NEET, GATE, CEED, JAM), etc.
  • After that, you have to submit your details after which you will get the application number.
  • Now, click on the ‘Upload image’ and select the images to upload.
  • Pay the required application fee by selecting the appropriate payment mode.
  • Click on the ‘submit’ button to submit the final application form.
  • Keep a printout of the filled application form with you for future reference.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must check the Criteria:

UG Program:

  • Eligibility: Students should have passed 10 + 2 in any recognized board or its equivalent examination.
  • Subject: Students should have passed 10 + 2 with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as their subjects.
  • Minimum Marks: To get admission in this, students must pass 10 + 2 with 60% marks and SC / ST candidates only have to pass the exam.
  • Examination: The candidate should have a valid KVPY / JEE Main / JEE Advanced or NEET Scorecard.
  • Visiting candidates: Final year candidates are also eligible to apply.

M.Tech/ M.Des:

  • M.Tech: BE / B.Tech or equivalent degree from any recognized institute / university. The candidate must have a valid GATE scorecard.
  • M.Ed.: Candidate should have a degree in BE / B. Tech / B.Des / B.Arch and a valid GATE or CEED scorecard.
  • MGT: BE / B candidates. Tech or equivalent degree from a recognized institute can apply. Candidates applying should have GATE, CAT & CMAT exam scorecards.

Rank List

Once the application form is submitted, the IISc Rank List will be published. It will be decided on the basis of the candidate’s results in the entrance exam.

To be eligible for admission to various courses, all applicants must pass one of the following tests: KVPY, JEE Main, JEE Advanced, GATE, CAT, NEET, JEST, JAM, CSIR-UGC NET/ JRF, DBT JRF, CEED, JEST, and ICMR JRF.

For each nominee, a separate merit list will be created. It will be prepared by a board of reserved category members. On the basis of the merit list, candidates will be called for an interview.

Cut Off

The IISc Cut-off would be the minimum score that candidates must achieve in order to pass the exam. It will be available in an online format.

The cut-off will be determined by the number of students who apply for the exam, the exam’s difficulty level, previous year’s cut-off trends, and other factors.

The exam conducting authority will announce the cut-offs for different categories. The estimated cut-off for general category candidates will be 60%, 50% for OBC-NCL candidates, and 30% for reserved category candidates.

Admission

Admission to IISc’s M.Tech and M.Des programs will be based on an aptitude test and an interview. Admission will be granted only to those who have been shortlisted based on their GATE/CEED ratings.

Candidates will be admitted to different courses based on the application process. Candidates will be chosen based on national level ratings, which will be followed by interview rounds.

On the basis of their grades, qualified applicants will be shortlisted on the merit list.
