CEED 2021: Application Form, Exam Dates & Other Information


CEED means Common Entrance Examination for Design. Common Entrance Exam for Design is organized by IIT Bombay.

CEED is a national level entrance examination held for entry into M. Courses in Des and Ph.D. Candidates’ aptitude for design is assessed through CEED, and qualified candidates are admitted to prestigious institutions such as IIT Kanpur, IIT Hyderabad, IISc Bangalore, IIT Guwahati, IITDM Jabalpur, and IIT Bombay. 

The CEED score is valid for one year from the date of the results announcement. Common Entrance Examination for Design all applications submitted for the only online mode.

Application Form

In the section below, students can find information about the CEED 2021 Application Form:

  • The application process consists of online registration, filling out the required information, uploading photos and documents, and paying the application fee.
  • CEED requires students to register with a valid mobile number and email address. After a good registration, the candidates will receive an email.
  • Since there is no provision for correction, students must fill out the form completely and accurately.
  • Finally, candidates must remember to print out their completed application forms for future reference.

  • SC/ST/PwD and Women Candidates: Rs.1300/-
  • Other Categories Candidates: Rs.2600/-

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must read the CEED 2021 Eligibility Criteria before filling out the application form:

Eligibility in General:

  • There will be no age restriction for taking CEED.
  • Many that are in their final year of college are qualified to apply. Such students must show evidence of passing during the admissions process.
  • Students will also be able to apply based on their GATE scores.


  • Students must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Design, or Interior Design, or its equivalent, from a recognized board or university after completing the 10+2 level.
  • After 10th grade, I pursued a 5-year program in G.D. Art with one year of post-qualification professional experience.
  • After completing 12th grade, earned a Professional Diploma in Design (NID/CEPT) or its equivalent.
  • After passing the 12th level exams, I earned a four-year Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA).

Exam Pattern

Candidates must read the following information about the CEED Exam Pattern:

  • There are two types of exam modes: online and offline.
  • The paper will be split into two sections: A and B.
  • The CEED paper will be divided into three parts.
  • Part A of the paper will be made up of multiple-choice and numerical-answer questions. Part B will consist of drawing-related questions.
  • The exam will be a total of 3 hours. Part A will be a one-hour test, while Part B will be a two-hour exam.
  • The exam will be given in English as the medium of instruction.
  • Part A will receive a 25% weighting, while Part B will receive a 75% weighting.
  • Parts A and B will each be worth 100 points.

Tips for Preparation

Candidates can use the following tips and tricks to help them prepare for the CEED exam:

  • Students should create a study routine for the exam and stick to it.
  • Before you begin studying for the CEED, make sure you have all of the necessary information, such as the CEED syllabus, exam pattern, and marking scheme.
  • Attempt mock tests and practice past papers to get the idea of the exam.
  • Make a list of all the relevant points in one location and review it on a regular basis.
  • Students are advised to obtain good CEED study material in order to prepare for the exam.

Answer Key

It is available for download in PDF format. Students can raise any objections or comments they have about the response key before the fourth week of January 2022. 


Students can access their results by logging in with their login credentials (DOB or password). Candidates who pass the CEED entrance exam are placed on a merit list for consideration in the admission process.

Candidates are also given a CEED scorecard, which includes information such as their rank, qualifying status, and merit position. The CEED Scorecard will be valid for one year from the date of issue.

Cut Off

It will be critical for candidates to achieve cut-off marks in order to be considered for further admission rounds via CEED.

The CEED cutoff will be determined based on the number of seats available, the number of qualified candidates, the difficulty level of the exam, the number of candidates who apply, and other factors.

Merit List

Candidates who pass the CEED exam with the necessary cut-off marks will be placed on the CEED merit list. The merit list will be published on the website based on the test scores obtained by the students.

Only students who pass the Part A exam will be allowed to take the Part B exam. Only those students whose names appear on the merit list will be able to participate in the counseling process.


The counseling process of CEED 2021 will be conducted through online mode. Candidates must apply for admission to different institutions using their CEED ratings, based on their preferences and marks.

Various participating institutions can have different admission procedures. The authority would not use CEED to perform counseling for seat allocation in institutions.

Various institutions can also conduct an aptitude test or an interview process as part of the admissions process.
